The Seven Capital Sins are a classification of the bad habits mentioned in the first Catholic Christian teachings to educate the followers in morality. At the beginning of the XIV century, the popularity of the Seven Capital Sins turned into a topic among the European artists of the time possibly helped to integrate them in many areas of the culture and Christian conscience through the world.
The Seven Capital Sins are the following ones: Lust, Greed, Greed, Laziness, Anger, Envy and Vanity. Each one of the Seven Capital Sins has an opposed one corresponding in the Seven Virtues. |
